Nottingham is such a great city to visit because there are so many things to do and not just at night, there are loads of things for couple, groups, and families etc to do during the daytime. Nottingham as an extremely rich history which is also very diverse from Robin Hood to Lace making, this means that there are a number of different places to visit and each one is completely different from the next. If you are looking for something other than history Nottingham is still the perfect place to visit, they have a number of parks, activity weekends, sports and adventure activities to offer too, just take a look below at some of the activities you can participate in;
Twin Lakes - just outside of Nottingham in neighbouring Leicestershire is Twin Lakes is a must for children, as well as being a fun park it also has its own farm and an indoor soft play area complex. The farm is full of a massive range of animals, from your typical farm yard animals to birds to creepy crawlies and you can also take part in some ferret racing. Over the outside complex there are a number of rollercoaster's, playgrounds, bumper boats and go-karts to name just a few! The indoor areas are just as fun, with a few smaller ones for the younger kids that are close to the food areas, the bigger play area is just next to them and is 3 floors of padded out fun with slides and punch bags to name just a few.
National Ice Centre - the NIC is fun for everyone, during the day it is open for everyone to try their hand at some ice skating, they also have days when you can book in and have some training on the basics of skating. Or if you are heading to the area in a group not only do they offer group deals but you could book in for a party package, the do a number of events including hen and stag do's and offer to packages; Ultimate party and Deluxe party! On Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights you can head down for a disco whilst you skate as they have special disco nights where the turn down the house lights, turn on the disco lights and turn up the music!
Go Ape! - this is a great place for all ages; this adventure play ground is set amongst the trees of Sherwood Forest. The course takes you over more than 30 zip wire slides, rope bridges and crawling through scramble nets. The course provides a lot of fun for adults as well as children, the adrenalin junkies of you will be in your element taking on the number of assault courses.
Current trends - another great adrenalin activity, Current trends is home to the one of the largest white water courses in the UK. You can get into a raft and take to the waters on a white water rafting course as well as taking on a number of land activities too like harness sphereing on their own purpose built complex.
Wheelgate Park - Wheelgate is great for little children, it is set over 30 acres of Sherwood Forest and has a massive variety of rides and activities to have a go at. The park has a number of different zones for you to discover which are; Robin Hood Zone, Tropics zone, Black Diamond zone and Matrix zone, all of the zones are made up of different rides and activities as well as a bit of Nottingham's history.
One 4 All - as it says in the name this is the perfect place for all ages. At One 4 All you can have your pick of heart racing activities from go kart racing to paintballing; they also have off road tracks for buggy riding and quad bike riding and tours. They also have a number of game areas for you to explore, making your day as much fun as possible!
